Stubbs the Zombie. Now what can be said about this classic, classic game. Firstly I'll cover the story. You are Stubbs the Zombie, previously you were a Door-to-door salesman, before you were killed. We're not told, or show, exactly how you were killed, but you were. The scene is Punchbowl, a revolutionary new city in the US with floating cars and robots that do everything. And rayguns. You cant forget the rayguns. You are Stubbs the Zombie, your pee can contaminate cities, your farts can stun, you throw explosive spleens, you can roll your head like some kind of exploding bowling ball. Oh, and you can detach your hand and use it to possess mortals!

The story: You are Stubbs, you used to be a door-to-door salesman, you visited the farm of the local redneck contingent and fell in love with the beautiful daughter of the redneck farmer. He came home, and caught you. At this point, all you hear is gunshots and see yourself quickly exiting the farmhouse. While we're never told how you actually died, one can safely assume that this was the cause of death. You awake in Punchbowl a few years in the future as you spring from the ground. You discover a poster with the same face as the woman you fell in love with at the farm, and decide to seek her out as you are a zombie in love! I wont spoil too much here, but you go around the different parts of the city as your epic, zombie love story develops.

Now this game is ridiculously funny. I dont think I have played a funnier game on the Xbox ever, and it makes me wish there was a humour factor in the rating system. Most of the fun comes from the amazing amount of gore which is displayed, so this is most definately not a game you should let your 4 year old niece play. I think the graphics and visuals are very, very well done. Its all very retro. The cutscenes, the language used, and other things. The humour is also very retro.

The controls are quite decent, too. I never once found myself getting frustrated with the controls, or how they operated. There was also a very easy learning curve for learning how to control Stubbs, and they went through a fairly simple tutorial at the start, and also explained new abilities you gained as the game went on.

Now the sound/music in this game is the only thing I would really gripe about. While its very unique, the retro style music, it was also very repetitive, and you got sick of it very quickly. But other than that, it was great. That being said about the music, the sounds just made this game even more hilarious. The humans would always shout little funny catchphrases as you ate their brains. Or tore off their arms to beat them to death with. For example, when you tore off someone's arm sometimes they'd say: "Now how will I play the piano?" or "My penis.. I mean, my arm!" or such things. It was quite amusing at times.

One of the negative points of this game is its replayability. And the fact that I managed to finish the entire game on hard in one day. So there really wasnt much replayability. Sure, I'd play it if I ever really needed a laugh, but even then it wouldnt be for long.

Multiplayer is one of the great points about this game. You can Co-op. In my experience, thats not really something you see often. And it just adds something to the game when you can sit there with a friend and just laugh your collective heads off at a cutscene, or something humourous that happened in game.

All in all, its a fun game. I urge you guys to hire it, and check it out. I guarentee that you'll laugh your asses off. At least for a while.

Just a quick note to add that this is now available in the XBOX Originals section in the Live Arcade....
