Hi all,
Let me start by saying I know nothing about Macs so I am hoping someone can help me. A client of mine has set up two FTP sites for one of their customers (both of which are hosted at the same domain; ftp.myclient.com.au with two different usernames and passwords, 1 for each of the sites.) We'll call my client's customer Angie to make things easier. From what I have been told Angie has previously logged in to FTP site 1 using her web browser and must have saved her credentials, because when she tries to access site 2 her system automatically logs in to site 1.
Any ideas on how to clear these credentials from the Mac so that she can access both sites?
All help greatly appreciated.
Sounds like an 'autocomplete' feature in her web browser?
What's she using?
I know shit all about macs.

My client has no idea, and won't give Angie's details to call her and ask. I feel like I'm pushing shit up hill
well then your client wont get a solution will he?

Probably best to use a dedicated FTP client like transmit - see www.versiontracker.com - if she's using safari you could reset it - that will clear any saved cookies etc.

Thanks for the reply. How would we do that?

Sounds like if you just reset Safari, it will erase history, etc…
Go up to Safari at the top and click Reset Safari… Pretty simple. :D
I've had problems when updating my website where when I make changes and hit refresh it just loads the one in memory, resetting always clears that problem up. Let me know if it works!

best ftp program for mac's ive found so far is a little shareware program called transmit (has a little truck icon) best bet is to delete all the history and cache and anything else in safari if this is the case, and or download firefox and move the client over to that program.
good luck

If you don't feel like paying for Transmit, you can try CyberDuck; it's pretty much feature-complete, and free.

If it's auto logging in I'd have a look at the keychains, and delete any old saved usernames and passwords.
Apps -> Utilities -> KeyChain Access
