I'll go for:

Wicked Game - Chris Isaak
Houdini - Kate Bush
Power of Love - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
David Grey - Please Forgive Me
Closer - NIN

But I reckon there's a load more :)

'at my most beautiful' by R.E.M, or 'you look so fine' by Garbage.

"you look so fine, I want to break your heart and give you mine."

as John Woo would say, that's "Very Romance."

Its hard to pick a a "favourite", since I have quite a few.

I'd probably opt (in choosing one):

The Smashing Pumpkins - ....said sadly

REM - "The one I love" >:)

I find it endlessly amusing that couples (to be fair, generally trendy "indie" couples) still consider this to be "their song."

People have it played at weddings, for Christ's sake!

Have they never bothered to listen to the lyrics?!

"This one goes out to the one I love
A simple prop to occupy my time"

Beautiful.

Don't get me wrong, this song is one of my favourites too (even despite my belief that U2 are now officially lame)
But I am unsure of this track's intended credibility as a love song because it has previously been brought to my attention that the With Or Without You lyrics were quite possibly more so referring to Bono's drug addictions... (check out Running to Stand Still off the same album, the Joshua Tree - it also appears to discuss drug habits)
However, having said that, I do believe that song lyrics should always be open to multiple interpretations - if you can deduce love from a song, then who am I to tell you it's not a love song?
