Hi all,

I have been banging my head about this and need some assistance.

The notebook is a Mac OS X Version 10.4.5 and the version of Safari is 2.0.3 (417.9.2) and the version of the ICA Client installed is 7.00.407.

I have installed the ICA Client onto the laptop and trying to connect to Citrix Presentation server 4.0.

Basically when I try to log into Citrix via Safari it comes up an error stating the following:
ERROR: An error has occured while trying to launch the application. Please contact your administrator. Log ID: 4029ce0a

The log ID changes everytime I click on the same application, or any application for that matter.

It works ok under firefox on the same notebook. I have imported the certificates properly, so I am now assuming I may have to import the certificates into java, but I have no idea how to do this (or change some settings on the Citrix server in IIS).

Any assistance would be great.

Cheers

Fuck Safari, keep using Firefox.

problem solved.

If you for some strange reason want to use Safari, upgrade Safari to 2.0.4 and your OS to 10.4.7 and give that a go.

Also, try log on as a different user and see if the same problem occurs.

Logged on as another user and the same issue occurs. I will tell the client to use firefox specifically for Citrix.

Oh, it is not my notebook, it is an end users notebook. I am not keen to do updates as it is for an external client but I thought that might help, but seriously it should not be this hard. Stupid Mac, it is like a big tittied hot chick. So much maintenance required just to get the bitch to do what you want it to do.

Yeah do that.

Only other thing id suggest is blowing away citrix all together and re-installing a fresh copy...

Did that also and still did not fix it.

It is just stupid. The client asked a mac tech on how to do it and he said it was easy. Spoke to the mac tech and he started babbling about shit and had no idea about using a web front end to Citrix and said in the end he had never tried it like that.

The way the client asked for it to be configued was via a web gui front end and because the client needs access to it remotely and I am not willing to set it up so the clients can remotely log into the desktop, he can just use firefox.

Make sure all the apps are universal, or designed for your CPU.

It took me forever to work out that Limewire for mac isnt designed for the Intel Macs.

I gave the notebook back to the guy. Stupid Safari and Mac. Even the icaclient for linux is easier than configuring it for Mac. And they say any application works with it. My arse.
