I've not been a fan of Kutcher's work. I've never gotten into that 70's show, and I think Dude where's my car is up there as entertaining as watching paint dry. That said, I caught this on Foxtel not long ago and was quite impressed.

The plot can be summerised from the Halloween Special from the simpsons where Grampa warns homer that if he ever goes back in time and makes any changes, they can change the future in ways he can't even possibly imagine.

Kutcher plays the roll quite well and the 'love' interest in Smart's character is also quite strong. She manages to pull off the different versions of her character very well, and I understood why the director's version of the ending made sense. (I've got a thing at the moment for anti-heroes. ie, Constatine, Malcolm Reynolds, Fitz from Cracker)

The theatrical relase is just too cheesy for my liking, but the stark ending of this movie made it quite enjoyable to me.

Rating (as stated above 8/10)

good call, but they should have done the scooby doo ending.

I was amazed at the acting of the kid in this movie. The evil one who killed dogs etc. He was freaky.

I agree with what you said though. I quite liked the concept of the movie and the way that they went about showing it. I thought Kutcher & Smart were pretty good, Smart especially.

I heard amazing things about this movie from friends and was dissapointed. While the acting was excellent and the basic concept of nexus points that Kutcher's character could go back to in order to change the present was intriguing, he kept making really stupid choices when he went back. Magnificently, epically stupid choices.

This is how I felt the entire movie: "How on earth did you think that would improve anything? Oh man! Punk'd, LOL she's a hooker!"

I was very impressed with this movie. I went to the cinema with no idea what it was about, and thinking it was a chick flick. I have a tendency to really like films that play with ‘time’ (like Sliding Doors), so its no great surprise that I liked it the movie but it blew me away with the story as well as the unexpectedly high quality of acting
