I've not been a fan of Kutcher's work. I've never gotten into that 70's show, and I think Dude where's my car is up there as entertaining as watching paint dry. That said, I caught this on Foxtel not long ago and was quite impressed.
The plot can be summerised from the Halloween Special from the simpsons where Grampa warns homer that if he ever goes back in time and makes any changes, they can change the future in ways he can't even possibly imagine.
Kutcher plays the roll quite well and the 'love' interest in Smart's character is also quite strong. She manages to pull off the different versions of her character very well, and I understood why the director's version of the ending made sense. (I've got a thing at the moment for anti-heroes. ie, Constatine, Malcolm Reynolds, Fitz from Cracker)
The theatrical relase is just too cheesy for my liking, but the stark ending of this movie made it quite enjoyable to me.
Rating (as stated above 8/10)
