iPhoto question

Here's the problem:

The boss loves to 'clear' space on his computer, with no idea the impact of just deleting things from the Photo Library or anything else. He is 'space' obsessed. Now we start to have issues. iPhoto no longer shows the photos in the main Library window when opened. It shows the generic .jpg icon, but not the picture.

When you double-click on the .jpg icon, the photo comes up, but now it doesn't work 'like a bought one' and is causing me headaches because I should (and don't) know how to fix this.

It's a iMac running OSX.3.9. iPhoto v.2.

We have tried in vain several times to Rebuild the Library. We are not missing photos, but the iPhoto just won't show them, just an icon.

Anyone out there know how to fix this?

And buy your boss a 200GB external hard drive.

Sounds like your boss deleted all the thumbnails.

First fix is to kill your boss and dump his body where no one will ever find him.

Second fix:

Select all the photos and export into a new folder (Shift Apple E). Make sure you export as FullSize. Also make sure that the photos have exported correctly. If they have select every photo in your library then delete them all. Now reimport the photos from the new folder you made and they should now all appear with the appropriate thumbnails.
