Ive had an absolute cunt of a time trying to get Streaming audio / video to work on an Intel Mac.

Ive downloaded:

Flip4mac and Realplayer 10.1

neither of them work on sites like ABC (http://www.abc.net.au/vod) or Amazon.com. even though both sites give me the option of viewing the files on either Windows Media player or real player.

real player at least *sometimes* works, so im persuing going that option for now. But when im trying to preview audio from CD's for sale on amazon.com, real player opens up... thinks for a minute. then spits out this error message.

What. the. fuck!

I check real player for available updates, but oh no. its tells me there are no updates available. What the fuck is RA 3.0 ? Ive done a search on google and found loads of other people having the same issues, but no ones really got any worthwhile solutions.

You'd think Mac would have thought this shit through before releasing their new products.

grumble grumble grrrrr.

Not having an Intel Mac to try on I can't really offer good suggestions.
Flip4Mac claims to work on Intel Macs, it has the Universal binary logo etc on their site.
And you're better off not bothering with RealPlayer, it's a cunt of an application and you shouldn't soil your nice Mac with it.

I'll ask some of the people around work whether they have Flip4Mac working on their MacIntels.

That image is copyrighted because I took it you bastard. Please give me a million dollars for continued usage.

Just kidding, kind of cool that someone is using my image.

Flip4Mac is definately universal but it doesn't do so well with streaming of WMVs and certainly not Real as it is designed only for WMVs.

Try VLC (http://videolan.org) because that streams pretty well, only it won't do it in a browser so you will have to find the URL and open it up in VLC.

Even then it's not effective.

Only player I've seen that streams well is QuickTime but not everyone uses that format.
