I noticed the core 2 duo macbook pros are finally available...
but not available with a 7200 rpm HDD option.

Haha! I have a core 2 duo macbook pro with a 7200 rpm hdd. Also with CS2 premium installed and MS office2004, and Final cut pro. It is awesome. I'll take a pic of it sometime to prove it if you don't believe me.

I read that CS2 does not improve that much with the new MAC pros. Yes? No?

It is true that CS2 runs slower on the Mac pro core duos than on the G5's. It is NOT true that it is slower than the G4 laptops like some have reported. But the performance gain (in my estimation) is like 10-20%. When CS3 comes out in June, you should get things done twice as fast LITERALLY. That is going to be some sweet improvement. Things are slow because the core duos have to emulate the G5 chip via Rosetta. Rosetta is also getting an upgrade in the near future that helps things out a bit.
