If you could alter life as you please
I would be born speaking Portuguese.
I mean, how would a child feel
If they grew up in Brazil?
If you were asked ‘where you from’
You’d say ‘bout four hours from the Amazon’.
Being a Mastre of Capoiera,
Harder than Antonio Nogueria
Hate Peter Allen more than an Aussie,
Always qualify for a World Cup possie.
My reasons, though, are not so meagre.
Brazil, you see, is the heartland of Sega.
They have the Master System 1, 2, 3 and 4
As many games as we got, they got more.
I would happily inhabit abject poverty
As long as I could afford a game or three.
Bugger things like international debts
Brazilians actually bought the 32x.
The Mega CD didn’t sell anywhere.
But in Brazil, its still being made there.
So hurrah for the Sega Game Gear
A hand held system that is actualy clear
And dreamy to use in any light
(‘Bout two hours battery, but that’s alright)
Who’s this Mario, GIVE ME SONIC
Also the best Tomb Raider Chronic-
cles, Marvel v. Capcom, Virtua Fighter,
And also Alex, that little blighter.
Games by the hundred, more or less, oh
Well may we shout: Ordem e Progresso!
Saturn was a failure, Dreamcast is gone as
But mourn not, we’ll fly to Congonas
To the land where Sega rules still
(With the flipping big Christ on a hill.)
We’ll frolic with Jim, learn spellcaster
And love all from Dream to Master.
