How much trouble could I potentially get into if I were to send one of our elected officials 20kg of used kitty litter in the mail, using their free reply-paid address? And if I were to do it on a regular basis, could I get into much trouble? And would it be better sent in one large box, or split into many littler ones?

And what about sending them several heavy packages that will cost them a lot in postage? I'm thinking of 50 * 20kg boxes of bricks....

I'm just preparing myself for our upcoming elections, and my automatic replies...

Cheers,

Chump

Depends how you send it... if you can do it in such a way that you won't be caught you should be ok... Its better to send bricks than a letter laced with flour and cinamon :D

lol - fair enough. I wasn't planning on sending anything suspicious - just something to get my message accross.

People who've sent things like used kitty litter in the mail have gotten into a whole fuckton of trouble, IIRC.

Have you considered sending a wad-load of the oppositions 'how to vote' cards instead? Not threatening, not dangerous, still pointed.

Yeah, that should work a lot better. Something like Kitty Litter will get you into a lot of trouble, particularly because it's possible for it to be filled with nasty shit.

Perhaps you should get your message across the same way the rest of us do - by voting based on your preference?

Why not just take the time to write a letter explaining politely why you're upset?

You can't get in trouble, and it's a much more eloquent way of getting your point across.

I once picked up 22kg of engine at my local post office but that was sent from another country.

I once sent an envelope full of flour to a certain Federal Liberal party MP. I made sure I used rubber gloves when I handled the envelope, the stamp, the flour, right up to when I stuck it into my local post box.

2 days later it made the news!!! obviously I didn't get caught though... :)

So yeah, just be careful you dont get your fingerprints on it and you cover your tracks and you should be fine.
