I'm eating sort of along the lines of the CSIRO food thingo.
Its high protein...

I'm going to work on stretching at work... tonight is my off night too... I've got a scooter club meet.

Also, you suggested working my quads. Thankfully my quads are pretty good... I just need to remember to stretch them because the muscles are all fairly tight in my legs.

I may go for the 1k walk again when I get home if I have the energy.

A friend of mine just started a remedial massage business, so I'm going to reward myself throughout this whole process with regular 1.5 hour massages ($75 for friends, how awesome)

good idea. also be aware there is some controversy in running circles about how and when one should integrate stretching into ones running routine.

what little consensus there is seems to agree that cold stretching is not advisable and stretching after running is critical. i typically do a 1 to 2 k warm-up jog then stretch. i then try and get three streching sessions every day.

i've seen a marked reduction in various aches and pains so i'm planning on stickin with it.

I'm supposed to stretch my legs 4 times a day or I lose strength down my legs during my stride. the quad area from knee to hip up inner leg is too tight... physio directions.

of course, i only do them twice a day because I can't really sit on the ground at work... and there is a distinct lack of pillows.
(one i have to lay on my stomach and pull my leg backwards, and another kneel on the ground and step one foot forward and lean into it)

Boxing this morning... not a great deal of running, a jog, then a medium pace, then a couple of sprints. Lots and lots of burpees (http://www.rosstraining.com/articles/burpeeclip.htm). And of course, belting the snot out of my training partner's mitts.

I went to athletes foot and aparantly i land on the inside of my heel, roll my foot outwards, and put almost all the pressure on the balls of my feet.

I've found two shoes...
Nike Evolution/equation??? - $220
These were the most comfortable... so I will probably get these.
&
Asics 1120 - $160
These pushed my ankles forward in the shoe so my heel couldn't rest right up against the back.
