Benwah and I will be working on some marathon issues over the next few weeks and this is the thread for us to pool our resources.
i've posted the first iteration of my training schedule (http://www.kleph.com/run/schedule.htm) on my blog. it's based on the hal higdon novice schedule. i used the intermediate schedule for my january marathon and that didn't work out so well (http://www.kleph.com/blog.php?v_blog_id=5&v_blog_entry_id=475).
so i've taken the last three months off and am approaching this race like my very first marathon. i'm simply trying to train myself to the point of being able to complete it. time is a secondary consideration (although just about any basic effort is almost assured to give me an improved time).
the idea is to survive this race intact then take a few weeks off to recover but start running again by the middle of october. i'll then prepare for a half-marathon in january and target an april marathon for boston qualification time.
