An hour on the hamster wheel for me this morning netted me just a shade over 10k... and my first ever case of "runner's nipple". Band-aids will be put into kit-bag this evening. No leg niggles to speak of - kept it slow and steady.
Nice to be indoors given the cold this morning, fairly hot and humid in the gym - which I guess is a good approximation of Sydney in the springtime.

Aye... it shall remain to be seen whether sanded-down nipples are more or less painful than band-aids ripping the fur out of my chest.

hahahahah
sorry, i've never heard of that problem... took me a while to figure out HOW it would happen.
Tonight is an off night...
I ran three times the distance I could run yesterday on my now nightly jog. That is to say, I ran about three metres without collapsing in a heap.
I hope to god I never experience your problem DT. If this happens I will cease and desist immediately and take up table tennis :D

I think wearing a bra would give the nipples some degree of protection from the abrasive nature of the sweat-soaked running singlet. However... I'm not going to wear a bra to the gym, there are some seriously big dudes in there.

5M Training run
Conditions : 25 clear, sunny
Surface : concrete, some sandstone steps, bush, grass oval.
Route : Down from work to the creek then through the bush to middle harbour the back up over Northbridge back to work
Run report : Much better run today, one stop 20 mins in to stretch out the calf muscles, then pretty plain sailing kept the pace down the rest of the way focusing on good form finishing with a bit of pace and a nice slow cooldown. I tried to get a gatorade in really quickly I want to do everything I can to recover quickly. Lots of stretching today and tonight. 45 mins all up.
No runners nipple to speak of ;-)

8K, 45 minutes, der info is here => http://www.kleph.com/blog.php?v_blog_id=5&v_blog_entry_id=837
i head off to cusco in the morning and will be on the road across southern peru for the next two weeks. i'm going to try and get some runs in but keeping up with the training schedule may not be a realistic option. an hour-long run at 3,365 meters ain't the smartest thing one should do.
but i'll try and keep up with things as much as possible and have a solid roundup when i get back.
