6M Training run
Conditions : Sunny, clear 18-20

Surface : Concrete, grass, sandstone steps, wood steps.

Route : Did the loop around the creek from work with an extra loop down to the oval and up the side steps.

Run report : A lovely day for it clear and sunny but not too hot, Mark came along so a bit of company for a change, clocked around 40 mins so I almost certainly didn't do the full 10K tomorrow is another 3M run so I'll extend that a bit to make up for it. Went to to see the physio again, and she told me I'm pretty unbalanced so I've got lots of special exercises to do but that's kinda cool because it means I can improve alot from this base I've built up.

I've been resting my knees since Sunday's effort... I hope I can work out what's triggering it and correct it because it's really knocking me about. Might see if I can handle eight or ten k tomorrow morning.

as you add miles, mechanical quirks in your stride often start to let themselves be known. but the first and most important question is how old are your shoes? more than four months? you might want to invest in a new pair for the effort.

I bought a new pair afew weeks ago, same model as my old ones. What I did do... on the advice of the pimply teen in the sports store... was put some insoles in to alleviate the quad strain I was getting. Which the physio at the gym tells me are causing me to overpronate and mash my kneebones into one another. I've since taken them out, reeled off a ten k yesterday with no additional soreness... giving them a few days off to fully recover and see how it goes.

Just weights for me this morning (Friday) leg presses, leg curls, extensions and calf raises. Going skiing tomorrow though, shouldn't be too bad as long as I don't get adventurous.
