In an attempt to make this a much nicer place again I thought I'd find out what makes people smile, as opposed to what pisses you off.
Today I smiled because a school kid gave me their seat on the train this morning.

I smiled at what looked like two primary school aged kids digging out some money for the Salvation Army dude at the train station.

I look am the spitting image of my elder sister. More when I was younger and even know we are very simular. Even though she is 10 years older than me and we have different fathers. To the point Mum has to check dates on photos to see which one of us it is.

whats made me smile today is actually from what happened the other day. I have been talking to this girl on the net for about 8 or 9 months now, and we get on really well, and we also talk on the phone.
Well the other day we finally met up and it was great, she is so cool, and we get along really well. We had dinner and went to a movie (Shanghai Knights) and I had a great time and she said she did as well, and we spent so much time looking into each others eyes. :)
Well some of you will think its lame but im happy so :p

Got to work and the Gaffer had split his head open. :D A few months ago the piss head fell through a fence and grazed all his face. It looked a right mess, a lot worse than it was. Now he's been on a bank holiday piss up and someone's head butted him in a nightclub, then the bouncers have chucked him out. He's gone to the hospital and they've told him it's six hours waiting, so he fucked 'em off.
He had to go today and wait about two hours to get seen to. Yippee! Two hours, without him.
A couple of weeks ago I skived off work and told him I'd fallen off my bike and he said "I don't know, still falling off your bike at your age."
He's sixty two/three years old. I was dieing to say "Still getting your fucking head kicked in at your age" but I didn't. I bottled it. Still very amusing for me

I smiled when I read this...
CAPTURING IT ALL
All this time that I spend growing,
This world is passing me by.
I thought I could get it on paper,
But not everything captures my eye.
I get very emotional,
And at times it seems pathetic.
But when I write it down,
I know I'll never forget it.
So maybe I'll try to be more positive,
Not write about what makes me sad.
I'll write about what makes people happy,
And hope I've captured it all in my hand........

Got to work this morning, go an email from the boss telling me to go to an address for a lunchtime meeting, ended up having lunch with the ceo of aol, a bunch of magazine editors and some chick from telly, I was the only bloke.. made me giggle and freak out. Then spent the rest of the arvo by myself testing digital cameras by sitting in a park taking pictures of the Harbour Bridge. Definately one of the top 10 of my working days.

My favorite professor did a walkathon for the March of Dimes, and asked his students to sponsor him. He said if he got more than $85 or something like that he'd let us "pie" him. If he got over $100 he'd do the 10 km walk barefoot. We met both challenges, and today was pie day. So after class we went outside and one of our classmates shoved a pie plate full of whipped cream in his face. It was very satisfying. :) ..oh yeah, and it made me smile :)

After taking a shitload of work from our 2nd and 3rd line techs on Monday, I got this email this morning:
<insert manager's name>
Following a discussion with Mel this afternoon I decided that I would email you.
Mel and I have been extremely impressed with the performance of the Back Office, in particular <insert misterbishi's name>. Today he has cleared roughly 50 CID Stages, this figure could well be much less than the quantity he has actually managed to clear.
I'd like to add that nothing is too much trouble, he is friendly, helpful, polite and keeps his promises i.e: "I'll call you back when I've done it". With his attitude this will definitely improve our standard of service and we sincerely hope that <Bishi's> standard is kept when others are trained and share this role.

What made me smile today was a woman who walked past me keeping to her right, I kept to my left, she finally moved but not enough, my arm bumped hers and her coffee fell on the ground. "EXCUSE ME???" ... I walked for a few more steps then turned around "In this country we keep to the left" and kept walking.
I was waiting (hoping) for her to go off at me (which she didn't unfortunately) in which case I would have explained to her that we keep to the left, I was doing just that, I couldn't move any further to the left due to buildings which I can't exactly walk through, so it's not MY fault that SHE did not give ME enough room and SHE ran into ME, hence knocking her own coffee onto the ground.
I laughed.

hehehe, heaps of people do that. measure a wire, and it's earth, connect the stereo to it, then wonder why it turns off when you turn the headlights on, and the dash power fuse blows ;)
