Personal best time over 10k, 55:53. If I could string four of those on end I'd be a very happy dwarf.

Started out only intending to do 5k, but 5k rolled around and I thought I may as well stick out the half hour, half hour rolled around and I thought an even 6k might look nicer in the log, by the time I hit 6 I was already thinking of 10, but 8 came along and I felt I still had plenty in the tank, so I punched up the speed and even managed the last kilometre in under five minutes.

Cute blonde checking me out from neighbouring treadmill had nothing to do with my bravado... nothing at all.

Ahahaha, Treadmill ego... man... I've done some extra K's because of that too puff the chest out and run hard brotherman!

7M Training
Conditions : 18-20 sunny, windy

Surface : Concrete, mud!, road.

Route : Down to the creek and back, then down to tunks park via the road, and over Northbridge and back to work

Report : Still pretty sore, but happy with the power and speed got in the full hour comfortably, and still felt like I had energy to burn, saw the physio tonight and have more stretches to do plus I'm going to bite the bullet and get orthodics and visit a sports movement specialist.

dwarfy, a sub-4 hour marathon sounds like a realistic possibility for you but don't be equating treadmill pace with road pace. also, nothing wrong with going a bit longer in your training runs than you originally intended but don't forget to cut them off when it just ain't there. remember, this is for the long haul so you gotta have balance.

benwah, sounds like a good plan. this next month will see you drastically increasing mileage and any kinks in your mechanics will manifest as injury in a freaking hurry. getting on top of things now is the best way to handle it.

as for me...

45 min, 8 km
the outside of my right knee is still feeling icky. not exactly pain but annoying nonetheless. it's right where everything connects to the top of the fibula so it could be anything from goofy shoe issues to tight ib band.
