Media Blvd has posted some series plot points - not so much spoilers, but rather story line directions - from the upcoming fourth and final season of Battlestar Galactica. To read the full article go here. (http://www.mediablvd.com/magazine/Magazine-Home/mbnews7224329329.html) If you ask me, by the looks of this, season 4 is going to rock and may actually make me regret thinking that ending the series a season early would be a good thing.

Among the more notable points are:

Actor Aaron Douglas, who plays Chief Tyrol, revealed that the final 5 Cylons are in fact a different breed of Cylon than the human form versions that attacked the colonies. These 5 in fact are the original Cylon’s, are immortal, and are the Cylon Gods. Apparently, the repeating theme within the show, that all of this has happened before, and will happen again is going to be explored in the final season. But it was clear that the implications are that the Cylon’s rose before in the distant past of the colonies, and will rise again.

(From AICN (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33248)) In Season 4, according to those on the set, it will be revealed that the centurion models are capable of intelligent thought, but the human form Cylons have been suppressing that ability with a device implanted in the positronic brain of the Cylon’s that prevents them from reasoning, and keeps them passive. No one would go into further details, but apparently a number of Centurions have these devices removed, and the battle damaged set is the result of the confrontation between these Centurions and their human form Cylon Masters.

Another secret let out of the bag, perhaps unintentionally, was revealed during the press tour of the sound stages led by Richard Hudolin, Production Designer, and Doug Maclean, Art Director for the series. During the visit to the Cylon control room, it was said that filming had just finished on a battle sequence on another Cylon set for episode 4 of Season 4. Press tour members were led through a Cylon conference room where an explosion had occurred, and where the walls were filled with bullet holes. The scene was also spattered in blood.

Apparently the sequence involves a sort of mini-rebellion with some Cylon centurions rebelling against their skinjob Cylon masters, and the battle damaged set is the result From the debris scattered about, the numerous bullet holes in the walls, and the shattered glass of the conference room, it would appear that the Centurions are not very happy about being enslaved, much as their ancestors were enslaved by the humans, which led to the first Cylon war.

Sounds awesome. I still need to get around to watching season 3 though.

Season 4 began airing today (gear up those torrents folks) and having watched the season premiere I can confidently say that this season is going to kick the ass of all that have come before it.
