Beautiful day for a run down here this afternoon. Hasn't rained for two days which has given the ground time to firm up a touch... but still nice and springy underfoot. Sun was shining, barely a zephyr to speak of and a nice cool 15ish degrees.

Took off up into the hills with a bottle of powerade and a packet of jelly snakes, wound my way through a couple of backwoods tracks, over the rifle range (just testing fate), and over the undulating hills of a cattle farm. The cows regarded me with a mix of curiosity and disdain, but I care not for the opinions of cows.

Back home by the back-roads... mainly gravel, a bit of dirt.

All up 25k over two and a half hours. Felt nice and solid through the whole run. Some of the hills were a bit of a crunch, but nothing hurty. Blister is starting to dry up and heal... still hasn't popped.

80 min. 16.5 kilometers.

or so i am guessing. the time is right, i'm estimating the distance by the pace i felt i was on - about 3/4 race pace.

actually, i wanted to just go out and take a solid easy hour and a half after the past couple of weeks of two-hours-plus. but dj steveboy had different plans, his current podrunner mix (http://www.djsteveboy.com/podrunner.html), “Bravo Papa Mike,” turned it into an expedition to find my lactic threshold.

seriously, if you want to get a hard workout in - download this bad boy. it is fucking awesome.
