Hay Guys Lol!
I am trying to get an iBook G4 laptop that I acquired cheaply workly, but it won't start up - I get the familiar chimes, but then am presented with an alternating question mark in a folder icon and two faces.
Does anyone have any idea how I could even start to get this baby back on track?

The folder with a question mark means that it cant find a system folder to boot from.
What you need is an install disc to boot from.

I've had this happen to me at work. Sometimes it can be as simple as unplugging the mouse. My art director had this happen to him recently and it was determined that his computer is pretty much fuked.
Suggestions We Tried Before We Figured Out His Computer Was Fuked (http://search.info.apple.com/?search=Go&lr=lang_en&kword=&type=&newstype=&q=question%20mark%2C%20start%20up)

Yep, chances are the drive was wiped before you got it so just do a system reinstall.
If that doesn't work replace the drive. You can either do it by yourself, although it's not as simple as it looks (trust me, been there done that) or take it into a Mac dealer to do it. I suggest you buy the drive first though.

Don't you understand that Mac's are perfect, never crash and have no issues?
Clearly, you just don't get it.

Seriously though, have you pulled the battery and given it a few minutes?
