The one for me was getting a Colecovision that played Donkey Kong :coolgleam
Then being told to go out the backyard, with much protest only to find outside Mum and Dad had secreted a red Raleigh five speed bike just outside the back door.

It was the 80s and I had seen the ads for the Hasbro A La Carte cooking/washing play unit in the weeks leading up to Christmas. I badly wanted one and lo and behold it was under the tree that Christmas Day in New Malden.

86 or 87 when my little sister and I ended up with a bandit like haul. Atari 7800, a fucktonne of games, a Tramamapolineeee, Slip and Slide and no water restrictions enabling us to enjoy it! Needless to say by the end of that summer I had abs you could break a steel baseball bat on from all the tramampolineeeee and slip and slide!

A few years ago, I got a severed arm for Christmas.
Oh, what fun I did have with that severed arm.
