Yeah, I know this is basically Medijournal repackaged but meh.

Anyway, here goes, by neck is very hot, stiff(nearly fused at this point) & aching, I have a kind of pulsating pain in the top right side of my head, I have a kind of spherical golf ball sized pain in the mid front left of my head, my right eye feels as though pressure is building behind it, my vision is kind of pulsing(between bright colour & kind of washed out, nearly grey colour).

Anyone have a clue as to what this might be?

It's a sign you need to go see a doctor

Its a toooomur!

Seriously, it sounds like a severe migraine.

I had one a couple of years ago a couple of weeks after a general and I had no idea what it was and thought I was having an epileptic seizure. So I went to the hospital, they tried an aspirin but it was too late, so they hooked me up to a drip full of Largactil (apparently when not being used to treat schizophrenia, chlorpromazine is occasionally used off-label for treatment of severe migraine) and WHAM! a happy me and no more migraine.

Or as Cassa more wisely suggested, just get your arse to a doctor!

It could be a migraine, the stiff neck is concerning though. How long have you been feeling this, do you have a fever, and have you had any viral illnesses recently.

How long have you been feeling this, do you have a fever, and have you had any viral illnesses recently.I have been known to suffer migraines, the neck has been an on & off thing since I was a teenager, I woke up like this this morning, often when it's humid I get joint pains & a tendency to overheat.

Not running a fever as such, back of my neck is very hot, neck is moving again but its crackly ,headache is gone except for when my head is in certain positions, eye balls & eyebrows ache.

Dad had rheumatic fever as a child, suffers arthritis & sciatica, I understand there is some heredity there, I've never been on record as ever having rheumatic fever though.

Better now......... but here's another one, what if you get head aches that aren't inside your head but rather are a foot or so above your head, &/or several inches to either side of your head?

Also what if you get metallic(like magnesium or zinc) tastes that aren't in mouth, but are actually in other parts of your head?

petit-mal epilepsy?

dead?

Oh yeah, and your previous illness could have been bad sinusitis (neck problems from lymph glands, the rest obvious)

petit-mal epilepsy?
Whatever it was I have actually experienced it, it was ten years ago, I was living in a sharehouse with a chronic stoner, there was no room in the house other than my own that didn't have a constant mauve-ish haze.

The insides of my cheeks, back of my lips & roof of my mouth do always have a metallic taste though.

Wouldn't that make this the medijournal thread? Which probably really does qualify as a zombie thread

I agree that Medijournal should be here but this isn't quite like medijournal, medijournal is for people to seek advice or for people who actually already know what's wrong with them to have a moan, this thread is more for particularly strange ailments for people to try & identify, It doesn't even have to be anything that anyone here is suffering/has ever suffered.

maybe you're schizophrenicMore than maybe actually but I've avoided that being on the record.

I suggest this because of the taste hallucinations. You really should get it checked out.

Dude, this isn't the first time you've created a thread for your medical issues (I'm not one to judgde, trust me).... and its about the fourth time schizophrenia has been suggested.

When was the last time you actually saw the doctor instead of getting internets advice?

Schizophrenia is treatable and doesn't go 'on the record' except for your medical record. I don't believe doctors have any right to inform your workplace either. One of my good friends has schizophrenia.

Anyway, you're already past the life expectancy of schizophrenics (24 i believe, my friend with schizophrenia had a small celebration that she'd survived). It could be something else.

See a real doctor.

EDIT: It's never lupus.
