I heard a rumour that it was announced on Nova that the iPhone would be released in Australia on February 20. Can anyone confirm this? Trying to contact JB Hi-Fi to see if they're taking orders.
My colleagues here have bought 5 off ebay so far and are loving them and I'm looking at getting 2...

Wait for the 3G version, regardless.
What's the damn rush about anyway, if you wait 4-6 months post-release, they'll be a lot cheaper.

But i want one yesterday. From the sounds of things the 3G version is highly likely to be the version released here anyway.

of course it will be released here. Besides, the first gen of apple products is generally quite buggy.

According to a source close to me, the iPhone was meant to be released at end of Feb by Telstra and it would be the 3g version. I wouldn't know whether to trust the source, but then they do work at Telstra so they might actually know something.
I'm perfectly happy with my iPhone. Not buggy at all.
