Just thought that I would let all of you war gamers know that I am in the process of building a warhammer 40k themed chess board using 40k models as the pieces. I have some solid ideas but am also asking for an ork players opinion on my piece choices as I don't play orks!
The board:
- Will consists of a glass top with custom etched black/white panels suspended above a battle scene which I am in the process of making in between painting the models.
- total construction will have to accommodate the larger tile sets for big bosses such as the ork war boss so it will be a large board.
The pieces:
- I have chosen Ork's and Space marines as the two opposing sides.
- What I was thinking for the ork's is:
Pawn: boyz (which I already have and am painting now)
Rook: Nobz in 'eavy armor
Knight: Nobz or Kommandoz (not sure yet)
Bishop: Mad doc
Queen: Warboss
King: Ghazghkull Thrakka
everything except for the pawns can be subject to change at the moment as they are the only models i currently have for the orks.
