You know what would be awesome? A fantasy version of Dawn of War, because 40K sucks a whole bunch of cock.

Or they could keep with the 40K thing, because fantasy has been done to death and is totally gay.

You mean like the whole bunch of crappy attempts to turn Warhammer into video games?

You mean like the whole bunch of crappy attempts to turn Warhammer into video games?Yeah, but Dawn of War is a grouse game - a game of similar quality based on Fantasy would be grouse.

i agree with fitty but at the same time i would love a game for fantasy and 40k that is true to the tabletop games right down to placing scenery, deciding on points and choosing an army and equipping each unit, turn based proper movement and all pretty much top down so you can see the whole board at once, but perhaps with hidden movement due to scenic items blocking line of sight etc. no chasing resources and replenishing units strengths, just play till the objectives are met or all your dudes are dead.
i dunno how true the the fantasy versions where, i played the demo for the first one and just could not get into it so i never tried again.

In the same vein as the online Magic:The Gathering would be awesome...total digitalization of the exact game. Jeez, you could even include different Rules Editions and allow "house rules" and such...be freaking awesome.
And yes (I have nearly all the Army Books in PDF with which to compare) that was the Tyranid swarm, no doubt about it...it fits the artwork to total perfection...in fact, the whole video was pretty damn amazing, really brought 40K to life like I have never seen before.

They more or less tried that in Shadow of the Horned Rat (http://www.mobygames.com/game/playstation/warhammer-shadow-of-the-horned-rat/credits), and it went in for the Fail pretty hard.

Here you go mate...just after she says, "No, this planet is theirs..." it pans up toward the sky, this large brown mass swirling about in a very organic fashion.

That coupled with the fact that the 'worlds' beyond look barren adding even more credence that it will be the Nids...or they could just be like that and I am looking into this way too much.

If you've got the awesome of the game minus the outrageous cost of your army, the number of new players would drop significantly, and I'm sure there'd be current players who would pack it in in favour of the PC version. They're in a dying industry as it is, they're not going to do anything to speed up their eventual demise.

http://community.dawnofwar2.com/main.php now has the extended trailer with Tyranid goodness as well as some gameplay videos featuring the insectoid bastards.
they also have some back story to this work in progress of fucking total excellance (http://www.flickr.com/photos/thqgames/sets/72157606822007979/) which I would dearly love as my vehicle for my monthly shopping trip.
