I've always wanted to be a star.....

With all the filming projects of the past being so SUCK, I want to make an uber zgeek online show for the site. My plan is to make it revolve around the happening of the site, taking in IRC, the forums, users and news plus all the latest gadgets I can borrow from work. Sort of like a site digest in extra-stoopid format.

I'm aiming for about a 30 min max show, and I am throwing this thread open for discussion about ideas for the show.

Plan so far:

Monthy show:
30 mins running time

Looking at the site (all area's)
Gadgets & Software
Geek lifestyle

any more?

If all teh ZGeekGirl nudity doesn't get em in to the site, nothing will

:p

how about more Movie/Book/Game reviews...something sort of offcial like

We could have an official Geek rep from each region/state/city.

And we could make em do STUFF!

Cat wars: we should attach household implements to our pets and make then fight to the death, or boredom at least.

I agree with the sentiment for more boobies. We could have a roving boobie-cam.

as long as it keeps people interested.
Not some boring crap like big brother or a harvey norman tv commercial.
Then again roll the 2 into 1 and, oh
thats already on channel 10.

Maybe this was hinted at in Pirate's original post, but you could do expansions to forum/IRC discussions. Like that whole Cats vs. Dogs thread. You could do a comedic in-depth analysis of the discussion looking at individual posts as well as the whole thread.

Blunt and I were talking about this the other night, and we had a suggestion for the role that the king of no-pants action could do..

Throughout the show, Blunt would be in a cutout in the top left corner translating wjhat is being said to abusive and comical sign language, followed by a special surprise at the end!

perhaps he could replicate mick molloy, by jumping around in his jocks...

ZGeek Girls Gone Wild :)

We just need some booze, a tropical climate, and more funbags :)

But yeah, a Late Show style production would be sweet. Given that the front page is "news", maybe a ZGeek version of "The Panel"?

The idea is certainly intriguing but it sounds like a lot of work, especially if it is to be done on constant intervals. The Global meet (or any other ZMeet) should be a good kickstart for the show or at least offer some interesting features.

I like all these suggestions.. Keep them coming because I am going to steal them all.

I think this little project is a definate goer. I think I will start organising this on the weekend.

Now who is on other parts of the world and has access to a digital video camera?

Tintin
02-07-2003, 03:18 PM
I want to be on some sort of panel/assignment with Snowball. Also, a token chiXX02 or more would be in order.

My Hi8 analogue camera produces excellent video, but would have to be digitised on some l33t capture equipment. Someone with video production skills would be good so that multiple cameras could be used in a 'Panel'-type set-up.

This weekend I will work out the format and we'll take it from there. I also have to steal my camera from my parents :)

In all seriousness I think it would rock !

if you can split it up a little, have some reg ppl or long timers do a few mins of talking about the site or irc chats, bring out goss, but only to a point so that no one gets pissed off.

talk about new things, do a part like "Geeky" reviews and include some hardware, software and gadets.

Talk about tips for ya computer and do reviews on ISP's and stuff.

if it were done right not only would it be a hit and even, maybe get a offer for a show on REAL tv. I'd love to help and have hella fun doing it....... but who knows.

of course throw in to all that funny shit I am sure it would rock.

I have used Pinnacle before, however it was a dinasour compared to what the industry has to offer now. That particular Pinnacle system was used with Linear editing.

The price listed for that particular system is cheaper than Photoshop Adobe. Which makes me wonder. I know with the dinasour that I used at the tv station, it was NOT very user friendly. I can not say how this particular system works.

Compared to the Price of what we are currently using however...
We have 2 Speedrazor set ups and 1 Adobe Primer. Adobe is the shit. I found Speedrazor to be really easy to learn. My boss is hogging the Adobe to herself. We use Boris, 3D max and InScriber plug ins. Inscriber kinda sucks for graphics, I make my own in Photoshop and trasport them to Boris and/or 3D. I'm still learning 3D max. But that's being hogged too:grr:

I find that I learn something new everyday....including in Photoshp!

FEEL FREE to stop by the Trailer ANYTIME!:p

Would you like to have the ZGeek TV Show broadcast?

I'm one of the programming decision makers for a community TV station (one of 6 in Australia). We also have a networking and cross programming relationship with other Community TV Stations that could be leveraged (depending upon quality of final ZGeek TV finished product) for a broader Australian wide broadcast. Community TV is also often the stepping stone to commercial TV, cocaine habits, and sexual perversion but I suspect we all here are ahead of the curve on that last one.

I would also like to see Pirate become a Star. Once a decision is made to go to broadcast, we can also chase down some sponsorship and product placement fees, which means you can have a budget to shoot the show with and drink with all the starlets you hire, or just blow it on Pizza's, Tooheys New and Flanellette shirts which is where zgeek money appears to go based on photos of the zmeets. ;)

We have a full digital editing suite up here and digital editors and graphic artists that can be used for the project, thus you wont need to concentrate on the boring technical bits. I like crays new track, maybe get all the soundtrack supplied by zgeekers as well.

Basically, if you all just concentrate on shooting cool, funny, or annoying footage, we have the people around here that dont have your creativity and together it becomes a tv show.

This is for real btw. Rove Live started out the same way, but not with as many anus jokes or monkey bikes I suspect.

I've got a Hitachi Digital 8 cam which does Hi-8 and Digital (with analog out and firewire), along with a tripod.

I've also got a Pinnacle DC10 analog capture card... plus Pinnacle Studio 8, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Ulead MediaPro, etc.... plus a couple of 80GB drives that aren't really being used atm.

So I can basically capture stuff from VHS AND DV.

Oh, and did I mention I live in Chatswood? :D

If you need any more info, get Buffy to give me a yell at work.

Bah, I think I'll just go buy my own when i get my tax money back. Something around $1500 will suffice. I saw this Panasonic that did MPEG4. That'd be my dream camera - no tapes, just DivX.
