Found ZGeek while randomly surfing and getting pointed this way by Google. Sort of been looking for a decent forum to waste some time on recently and after lurking for a bit in the wee small hours I finally decided to take the plunge.

I'm a Psychology student living in the UK with my Fiancee. I'm 22, and into classic rock, Macs and video gaming. Used to be a massive Planetside whore on Werner (European) Server fighting for the Vanu but it's all gone a little bit dead so I've finally given up the ghost on that one.

Currently a little bit too addicted to oGame, though not entirely sure why... It just keeps sucking me back in!

I'm new to zgeek. I post here, even though the newbie forum seems barren, because I don't want people asking who I am when I comment on another thread.

I have no idea how I never really noticed the existence of zgeek for as long as I have. I saw the story about some guy suing the site, checked it out and though, hey, those guys don't deserve that shit. Reading the threads, I got enough chuckles to want to make an account. So here I am.

I'm a unix geek. I work for an Australian ISP, working at one of the Sydney offices. I write software (mostly C, some C++, perl/python, etc), do integration crap (read: buy expensive third party software and make it work in our messed up environment), plan hardware upgrades, come up with hair-brained schemes for world domination, complain about the lack of a decent pay rise every year even though I'm already reasonably well paid, the usual boring shit.

In my spare time, I help maintain Mactalk Australia - I'm chrome on there as well. I used to play an awful lot of WoW, but these days I'm pretty bored of that. In my spare time these days I'd rather hop on my Suzuki motorbike and go hooning around the streets. I'm reasonably good with a camera, though I've not won any awards. I like to think I take nice shots, but the reality is that I don't take enough photos these days.

I'm a mac guy on the desktop, but mostly from lazyness. It seems to require less effort than Windows to keep alive, and I can always reboot the mac into Windows to play the odd game that I want.

I am 34, don't have a mortgage, am married, don't have children, pay too much for rent, too much for internet access, complain about house prices, and hate slow walks on the beach. Walking is for losers. :P
