Yeah they do. Since my off-brand lenses have broken twice, I've made it a point to go Nikon whenever possible. They're sturdy, always the best, and if it comes down to it I can resell them for almost as much as retail years down the road if I keep them in good shape. Sucks that they're usually 2-3 times the price of Tamron/Sigma stuff though.

I'm a Canonfag at the moment, but when I move into the pro market I will definitely go with Nikon...

As usual people, love your work, all great shots, I love black and white photography and wish I was around to have pushed this a bit more. So thanks very much to those who entered and to muppet for looking after things. You all rock.
I don't know how much longer I will be gone and have been looking forward to organising the comp when I get back, but I see things have only got worse on the troll front lately, and after skimming through a few threads I am not sure if the comp is worth the hassle and that's after a lot of the comments have been deleted.
It seems that some people get more enjoyment from pissing on someone elses parade than joining in and that's a shame.
They are to big for the zgeek amateur fun comps but not big enough to go to a dedicated photography site to play with the bigger kids in thier comps, so just hang around spoiling the little kids fun.
Poor tweens.

Ironically one of those bigger kids who does happen to actually earn a living from taking photos rather than just wishing they could, seems to have no problem with our little, just for fun comp, and has plenty of friendly, helpful advice to share with our self confessed begginers in a non derogatory or condescending manner. For which I and I am sure many others here are quite grateful.
(if you just felt little tickle when reading that Kyle, yes, that was my tongue up your arse)

The comp has been a shambles the last few months as I only get on here for an hour or two every few weeks if i am lucky and for that I apologise. I gather Elf has had life take her in other directions lately as well. I hope it will be all back to normal soon but I cannot give you a date.
Feel free to start a thread discussing ideas and directions for future comps if you wish. Please try and keep the photography forum civil and on topic and useful, I have told the modbots to be as harsh as they like with the deleting of comments while Elf and I are gone. If you want to be a cock fuck off to bitching and rants.

You know Dave, your snide comments are shithouse. I won't be deleting anything in this thread, even though there are many posts deserving it. If I could hard delete I would, but soft deleting makes it just as much of a pain to scroll through.

Kris, although he is a whiny bitch, at least enters and has helpful comments for others. He is also a valuable contributor to the site. So I am going to ask him publicly: "Would you stop to bitchiness in these comp threads please?"

I also implore the rest of you who respond to his trolling (you know who you are) to just ignore him. It makes deleting easier.

I seriously wanted to get this comp back off the ground this year and it really does take a lot of effort and time out to do, so having dickheads bagging us and the entrants out all the time is seriously fucking annoying.

If you (Davo) want to enter a more serious comp, then go for it. If you don't like this JUST FOR FUN comp then just stay away. I will not stand for any more shit in here.

I am going to close this thread now. Kyle has been asked to forward his ideas for next month's comp to me.
