iPhone 5 – The perfect time to switch to Android
Apple has been granted a patent for what is believed to be a new docking connector for the next version of the iPhone – and consumers are worried.
The patent would seem to confirm the rumours that Apple – which always plays its cards tight to its chest with new designs – is switching its 30-pin dock to 19-pin.
And that is what concerns Apple users. The new design will mean changing all of your peripherals, such as speaker docks, unless adapters come to market, The Daily Mail reports.
This is what you get from a company that wants to lock you in. Custom connectors that only they use. Most non-Apple phones these days use microUSB which is now an industry standard across all manufacturers. So instead of upgrading to a new iphone and replacing all your docks etc (which you may need to do again in the future when Apple decide to change this port again). Look at the alternative phones that are out there. Ones that won’t fuck you over for a buck.
