The former Libyan intelligence officer Abdel Baset al Megrahi, who was convicted of the 1988 Lockerbie bombing, died in Libya today, FOX News Channel confirmed.
“He died an hour ago,” one of Megrahi’s brothers, Abdelhakim al Megrahi told AFP earlier, putting the time of death at shortly after 1pm local time.
