The Verzasca is a 30-km long mountain river originating at Pizzo Barone and flowing into Lake Maggiore[1]. It is known for its clear turquoise water and vibrant colored rocks, as well as its treacherous currents. The Verzasca Dam is a few kilometers upriver from this lake.
The Verzasca River valley is in Ticino, the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Chestnut trees thrive at the bottom of the valley. Its water is crystal clear, and the depth does not exceed 10 meters. Its average temperature is 7 – 10 °C.
